Better Late Than Never. Right?

Yep. Here is is, November 12 and I finally got around to making a daily school schedule that fits our needs this year. Just in time for all our weekly extras to come to a halt in a month. That's the way I roll.

We've been doing most of this stuff, but more in a, "Hmmm, what should we do next?" kind of way. Not only are we not the most efficient with that method, but there are several things we just accidentally forget to to.

Believe it or not, we've done everything on the schedule this week and it hasn't felt hard or too much. Moving the girls' read alone time to the last school activity of the day was my brilliant homeschool idea of the week. (I wish I had some kind of brilliant homeschool idea of the week every week). It comes at a time everyone is really ready for a break anyway. So they get a break, but they are also getting some schooling done. It's a win-win.

And I'm using my window board again. For a while it was just cute kitchen/office decoration. It needed to have a purpose in our family again.

Great idea! We aren't falling behind on school...yet. But if I don't get my act together soon it is only a matter of time. May have to snag your idea since I have some old barn windows in the garage with the glass intact that would be so easy to repurpose.

The window board is one of my favorite things. I have still been using it for phone message and such, but it wasn't being used like I originally intended.

This use is just about perfect. Glad you are keeping up this year! Good job!

I was just going to ask if that was an old window. Great idea. I had to print out an excel sheet for my older 2 - they need to know what is going on daily. I also need to begin some sort of check list for my 2 younger ones. They seem to have too much free time on their hands :)

BTW - I visited your blog via twitter (I commented on your twaiku for sewmamasew) but I think I've visited before. That header looks familiar.

Hey Ellen! Thanks for stopping in. I have detailed plans for each girl in their own 3 ring binder. I wrote about that here:

We needed the above to help give an overall structure to our day, but I LOVE the notebooks that detail what each girl needs to do and when. It's still really working for us this year.
