This is what my husband likes to keep the thermostat set on. This is why I freeze all the time. This is why my kids voluntarily pulled out their electric blankets and set them up themselves last night. This is why I'm considering getting the five women of the house a Snuggie for Christmas.
Brrr. I'm going to bed now. More from the December Photo Project can be found here.

Oh man. That makes me shiver just looking at it...I feel for you.

I feel for you...we're right there with you at 64 degrees in the daytime and 60 at night (though actual temps upstairs are a fair bit lower). Though lately we've been known to up it a bit, ignoring our frugal sensibilities at least until we get the first huge natural gas bill or until the baby comes and we feel it is necessary to keep it a bit warmer.

wow, that's warm! we keep ours around 55. if guests come over, we might put it to 65 for a short burst. my daughter, somehow, still wants to take off all her clothes and run around naked.

now is this a frugal thing or a cold-loving thing? because if it is a frugal thing, i'd hate to know what he likes to keep it at during the summer ;)

It's a both/and. Craig can't sleep when the house is too warm and the upstairs gets much warmer than down because of our radiators (which we love, btw). But the main problem is that I'm usually still working on something down here so I get super cold.
In the summer we try to go as long as we can before cranking on the scattered window units, but eventually they come on. :) We don't have central air.

My husband is the same way - he likes living in a meat locker!
The snuggies are a great idea. :)

our old thermostat looked exactly like this!! we replaced it this summer and was the best things we ever did to improve efficiency, but it's funny to see the same one in a different part of the country. :)

yes! that's how jay is, too. grrr!!! but now i wear slippers and a fleece all the time...at least i'm getting good use of those wintry wearables, eh?

My husband would keep it that cold too if he could, but fortunately for my sake, our kitties start to shiver and shake and whine when it gets below 67. He must love them more than me... ;)
