Too many polka dots? I had a solid red background for a few minutes - had trouble getting the reds to match. Thought the polka dot might be fun, but now wondering if my eyes might cross if I see it too much.
How about you? Are your eyes going cross? Prefer a solid background? I'm still teaching myself all this nonsense and it isn't pretty.
I'm having blog button issues too, but I'm not sure anyone really cares about that anyway.
Help me Obi-Wan. You're my only hope.

Oooo, and now in the large print edition...

dots on the side aren't bad... the ones on the header might be too much with the type of font you have (I like the font better than the dots). The dots and the buttons together throw me off the more I look it. :)

I'm with Amy. The dots and the buttons are too much all at once. And I like the font better than the dots, too.

You all are killing me here. Okay, I asked for it. I'm working on a new background now.
I have very little tolerance for design. :)

I actually like the buttons... I say go with a light greyish blue background, similar to the color in some of your text.

i think part of the visual pain i feel is that you have basically 3 main colors in the texts, and then the red works against that color scheme. pick a color that is used in the button text/font, and use one of those for its background, and another of those colors for the sides of the blog.

Steve - all those goofy reds were driving me nuts too, but at 12:30am, I finally called it.
Can I get away with a Christmas background for a few weeks or does this look dumb?
I can take it.

What program are you using to create your banner? I like the banner, but not wild about the background. Why not just a solid colors taken from the banner - maybe the light blue or light purple found in the banner?

hey! I like what you have now a lot better (tan background, christmas on sides). It still gets the red you like and you can read the title.

the christmas sides look good after i've read far enough down to no longer see the banner, but the two together don't work. i DM twitted you a link that should help with color schemes, but for those who read this and might want the link: colorschemedesigner.com

I finally had to just call it. I was spending too much time on it. I figured most people don't even come here anyway but read it in a google or bloglines type reader.
I DO plan to change it. Just waiting until I have more time. :)
