Energizer has teamed up with the National Park Foundation to launch a public effort to power and preserve America’s national parks.  Helping to launch the program is outdoor enthusiast, Peter Facinelli of The Twilight Saga and Nurse Jackie.  The program brings awareness to the importance of preserving our country’s greatest natural resources and gives people a couple of different way to get involved.

Get Hands On
RSVP to join a now that’s positivenergy™ national park volunteer event by visiting Now That's Positive Energy or check them out on Facebook by and clicking on the Parks tab. While there, visitors also have the power to select one of the park recipients through an online vote, which runs through Friday, May 13. Each park hosting an event will receive a grant from Energizer and a donation of responsible power solutions including solar panels, chargers, batteries, solar lights and other lighting products. I just voted for the Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument in Colorado Springs. Go make your selection!

Product Purchase
Right now in stores specially-marked Energizer products contain a special code so when someone buys three participating products, he or she can go online to the Energizer website and redeem the codes for a $10 reward toward a national park adventure or elect for Energizer to donate the reward directly to the National Park Foundation.

Energizer wants to offer one of you a $10 gift card of your choice to either Walmart or Target. Awesome! Here's how to enter:

  • For yet another chance, click the Facebook "like" button at the bottom of this post. Leave another comment letting me know you did that too!. Come back and leave another comment for that one too.
  • Still want more entries? Subscribe to this blog, Half-Pint House Handouts or follow via Google Friend Connect in the right sidebar.  Come back and let me know that you did it! You only have to do this once. If you've done it before for another giveaway, just leave a comment saying you already have that taken care of.
  • Go back to my landing page for this week's giveaways and reviews. Choose one of my "review only" posts to leave a comment on and then come back saying you did that. Presto! One more entry!

The winner will be selected by Random.org. This contest will close on May 13. The winner will be notified that weekend and will need to respond within 48 hours or risk forfeiting the prize to the next in line.   Be sure you've put a valid email address in the email form when you leave your comment.  If I can't contact you, I will choose another winner. It's happened before.

I learned about Energizer being better for the environment. I really thought that all batteries were equally bad, so this is definitely a good thing to know and will make me choose Energizer the next time I’m shopping for batteries!
