I do believe this is the first "normal" week we've had this summer. We've been traveling quite a bit and we're about to do so again. It figures that smack dab in the middle of our first "normal" week we have a holiday. But it's a super laid-back holiday – we really like laid-back holidays! The night before the 4th of July (that would be the 3rd of July for those of you who are counting), we invited over some friends for an evening of Tombstone Pizza, Nestle Drumsticks, swimming, and patriotic fun.
We went to Walmart for the pizza and ice cream. While we were there we picked up a few decorating items and craft supplies too. You can see our entire shopping experience via this Google+ photo album right here!
When we got home, my 13yo went to work right away. She made this really fun set of summer wreathes made out of little drink umbrellas:
Isn't that cute? I introduced her to Pinterest yesterday and she. can't. stop! My kids also decorated the table based off of a photo they found on Pinterest too!
Dinner before swimming! Word on the street was that this pizza was WAY better than the local chain that sells ready-to-go pizzas for $5. Good to know!
All I can say about this is YUM!
These cute Mason jars were another Pinterest-inspired project completed by my 13yo. I love them!
And we had a bunch of swimming fun after dinner was over. Pizza + Ice Cream + Swimming Pool = Practically Perfect Summer Party!
And here's the front of our house with our new summer wreathes, courtesy of my daughter!
Thanks, Walmart, Drumstick and Tombstone Pizza! We had a blast!

Love the crafts your 13-year old made from Pinterest! She must get her creativity from you. Looks like everyone was able to grab some Summer fun!
Thanks, Andrea! She’s pretty awesome!
what a great post with lots of crafts I am stealing – LOL! Your 13 yo is quite crafty! I love how easy and fun this party was!
I’m impressed, I need to say. Really not often do I encounter a weblog that’s each
educative and entertaining, and let me tell you, you have hit the nail on
the head. Your concept is excellent; the problem is one thing that not enough persons are
talking intelligently about. I am very glad that I stumbled across this in my search for one thing regarding this.
