Math Made Easy is a simple workbook set designed to help your kids master the basics of addition and multiplication, without using their fingers, in just six short weeks. We recently received the Multiplication package for review. This package was designed with typical 3rd and 4th graders in mind, though certain 5th and 6th graders will definitely benefit as well.
The Homeschool Multiplication Package sells for $24.95. With it you get all of this:
- Lesson Plans
- PreTest
- Six Weeks of Daily Activity Sheets
- Post Test
- Games
- Flash Cards
It’s a little “old-school” in the style of the content – it hails of a time when zerox was a luxury and mimeograph the norm. At least that’s what the style says to me when I look at it. But even though I tend to judge books by their covers, this is one case in which you really shouldn’t. The content is super and I’m thrilled to be able to use this effectively with both my 3rd and 4th graders as decent multiplication review at the very same time. You can see by their philosophy of multiplication above that this isn’t your 1983 math drill.
You can see in the sample set above a snapshot of one of the provided lesson plans as well as what one of the worksheets looks like and some of the other activities/games. So yes, the design is a little dated, but the content never grows old. And if you are looking for some ways to capture the attention of your 8-10 year olds while doing multiplication review, Math Made Easy could very well be the thing you’re looking for.
