The Gruffalo’s Child – Book & DVD {Giveaway}

in Books & Culture, Kids, Movies, Review/Giveaway, US Only

Sometime last year I received a copy of The Gruffalo by Julia Donaldson to review and giveaway and I was thrilled! I was already familiar with The Gruffalo because it was one of my professor’s book selections for the Children’s Literature class I took in seminary. Such a delightful tale and the DVD was beautifully crafted to match.

This year I received a copy of The Gruffalo’s Child, a follow-up book to The Gruffalo. What a wonderful surprise! I had no idea this book had even come out and with a second DVD to boot! Awesome! Get a little peek right here:

Such a fun story. Here’s the official write-up:

In The Gruffalo’s Child, the Gruffalo tells his child an extraordinary story of “The Big Bad Mouse,” warning her never to go in the woods alone because there is a terrible creature lurking there.  Waiting until her father falls asleep, the Gruffalo’s Child sneaks out into the deep dark woods to see The Big Bad Mouse for herself.  Along the way she runs into a snake, an owl, and a fox and discovers that while they have similar features to The Big Bad Mouse, they are, in fact, not him.  Just as she is about to give up her search, she stumbles upon a tiny mouse. Cautious of her, the mouse listens to what the Gruffalo’s Child is looking for, and then decides to reveal his big bad secret!

The Gruffalo’s Child is available locally and from NCircleEntertainment. The DVD features a special behind-the-scenes bonus feature. Total run time is 40 minutes. Be sure to check out NCircleEntertainment on Facebook for more info and fun prizes!

I’m happy to be able to offer one of you both the book and the DVD of this lovely story! Entry is through the Rafflecopter form below.

We have the Gruffalo, and I agree! It is a fabulously done movie – unlike most movies created from books. You have to watch it more than once, though, to appreciate it. I can’t wait to experience Gruffalo’s Child!
