You may or may not be aware already that The Avengers is being released for purchase this Tuesday! You may also not be aware that Walmart will be selling The Avengers Blu-Ray/DVD/Graphic Novel Combo pack for 24.95 this Tuesday (awesome). Further more, you may also not be aware that we have a boat-load of super hero fans in my family. Craig may be the only male in this house, but he’s working hard to impart his love of all things sci-fi and super hero to his girls. Mission accomplished.
In honor of all these things you might not have previously been aware of, we invited over some good friends and had ourselves an Avengers party last night. Trust me when I say this: Our super hero party was SUPER fun. But before we got to the party part, we had some shopping to do. I took my super hero girls-in-training to Walmart to pick out some Avengers party fun. They took turns wearing their super hero cape around the store which was all kinds of hilarious while we were there.
While we were shopping we were hunting for Avengers signs with trigger points to activate various things on the iPad and iPhone. Katie and Millie both thought this was a super awesome feature and were motivated to find more signs!
Here you can see Millie being pretty fascinated with the virtual city that popped out at her when she pointed the Avengers app at the Marketside Pizza we picked up from the Walmart deli. Wowza! She couldn’t wait to share that piece-o-fun with her two other older sisters later on. You can also see some of the super hero cape supplies we picked up from the fabric section while we were there! The rest of our selections for the party as well as a lot of really awesome photos of the party itself can be seen in this Google + photo album.
The next day it was time for some real super hero party fun! We had a whole crew of heroes-in-training at our house. This is their serious pose:
After dinner we had a “Make Your Own Captain America Shield Cookie” decorating station.
Then we applied Avengers temporary tattoos and began constructing build-your-own super hero capes. That was definitely a highlight.
And here are our super heroes ready for a mission! I think their first mission needs to be to clean up the school room, what do you think? *grin*
All in all, a good time for everyone and now we’re more than ready for The Avengers to come out on Tuesday!
