We’ve been big Spider-Man fans for a long time. I’m totally intrigued by this latest installment in which Peter tries to piece together where he came from. I’m really looking forward to seeing it when it comes out on November 9th! Take a look at this trailer:
But you know, Walmart is currently offering the ability to pre-purchase The Amazing Spider-Man with a pre-purchase box in the store. When you do this, you can register at Vudu.com to receive a digital copy of the movie even earlier – on October 30th! Then the physical copy will be mailed to you a couple of days before the official release date, but you can get a spidey-jump on all your friends by being able to watch The Amazing Spider-Man ten days early! With this in mind, I went to Walmart last week to hunt for one of these pre-purchase boxes. It was a rainy day – perfect for a movie! I found myself wishing the movie was ready to buy on September 27th!
I found the Spider-Man rack right away:
And, of course, noticed the pre-purchase signage near the rack. I think this is pretty key because it would be pretty easy to glance at the DVD box and kind of miss that you weren’t actually buying the DVD right THEN. I mean, the box is well marked and everything, but I could totally see myself making that mistake. So it’s nice they had the sign.
So I made my selection and went on with the rest of my shopping trip. I was looking forward to getting home and checking out Vudu.com!
I opened up the box when I got home and found the code for registering my pre-purchase on a DVD-shaped piece of cardboard inside the box. It included very detailed step-by-step directions for getting the movie registered on Vudu.com.
From there it was a matter of popping over to the website:
I got the code entered and my account set up. Now I have some deleted scenes and stunt rehearsal options I can watch as little featurettes right away, but won’t have access to the digital copy of the movie until October 30. We plan to have a fun party right around then for Halloween and show our friends the movie. Looking forward to that and will post about our experience with the movie after we get to see it!
So now we wait! I’ll come back at the end of the month to tell you about our super fun (I KNOW it will be!) #SpiderManWMT party. In the meantime, you can stay up to date by following the Spider-Man movie on Twitter, and checking out The Amazing Spider-Man on Facebook!
